Info

Shaki Waterfall is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in Armenia, located in the Syunik Province, near the town of Sisian. The Shaki River water, a tributary of the Vorotan, plunges thunderously from a height of approximately 18 meters, creating a powerful and captivating cascade. This waterfall is unique because the water falls over basalt rocks, making its landscape particularly photogenic.

The best time to visit is spring and early summer, when the water level is highest due to snowmelt. The waterfall is not only a natural but also a historical monument. According to local legend, it gets its name from a beautiful girl named Shaki who, fleeing invaders, chose to jump from the cliff, and her dress transformed into a curtain of water.
