History in the City Center: Kond and the Blue Mosque
Our journey begins with a comfortable drive along Marshal Baghramyan Avenue. Then Your personal guide will lead you through the streets of the Old City, or Kond. You will hear fascinating stories about the thousand-year history of the capital and visit the majestic Blue Mosque—an outstanding monument of 18th-century Persian architecture and one of the oldest centers of Islamic culture in the Caucasus.
Immersion into Antiquity: Erebuni
Next, we will visit the Erebuni Fortress-Museum. This is the place where the history of modern Yerevan began in 782 BC. Here you will see the ruins of the ancient Urartian city, view artifacts, and learn how life in the capital changed over nearly three millennia.
Carpet Museum: History and Heritage
The tour will conclude with a visit to a carpet factory. Your introduction to carpet weaving will take place in a museum format: you will learn about the history, see finished products, and hear a fascinating story from the local guide about the symbolism of ancient patterns and the traditions of Armenian craft, included in the UNESCO intangible heritage list.
Please note: The demonstration of the carpet-making process is not guaranteed and depends on the factory’s production schedule.
